When should America wake up?: A Conversion to Muslim Religion

posted by PoliJunkie

My first college degree was in Commercial Art, where I took two different Art History classes that each ran 3 to 4 hours a night, two nights a week. The spread and influence from societies and cultures all over the world have contributed to wonderful art and architecture throughout the world's cities. Religion also plays a huge part in the spread of cultures, let's face it, the majority of wars have been fought over religion. I have learned many interesting and fun facts about history through my art classes and I would recommend the experience to everyone interested in art BUT at no point in time were we ever forced to practice or demonstrate another religion that was not our own. Here in America we are known as a "melting pot" so it would be hard in any classroom to nail down everyone to one religion. That being said, recently there was an incident at a school in the UK where 7th graders were given detention for not participating in their Religion course's muslim prayer.

Parents and family members were outraged, as they should be, with the situation. One grandparent had mentioned that muslims would be just as furious if their children were forced to go to a catholic church for communion. “Making them pray to Allah, who isn’t who they worship, is wrong and what got me is that they were told they were being disrespectful." said one of the parents.

http://www.christian.org.uk/news/20080707/boys-given-detention-for-refusing-muslim-prayer/

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2247388/Schoolboys-disciplined-for-'refusing-to-pray-to-Allah'.html

As many know, I am huge on national security. With Obama recently talking about disarming our nuclear weapons around the world, pulling back troops, negotiate with our enemies, taking nuclear arms COMPLETELY off the table as any option to be used, frankly I am very scared for not only myself and family but this whole country. Something is seriously wrong here. America is often described as the sleeping giant, when it comes to terrorism, sometimes that giant wakes up and reacts but sometimes it doesn't. If September 11th, 2001 taught us anything, it is that our country is ALWAYS at war, not a regular one either, we are fighting people without a government, ones that think they should bring Armageddon upon us so that their Messiah returns. Make no mistake about it, they WANT to kill us and there is NO negotiating with them.

This all brings me to my next point related to the detention story above. The UK is also experiencing Sharia Law circumstances throughout the country. Sharia Law is muslim religious laws that are followed. In a lot of cases the punishments for breaking such laws is physically striking, in cases to death, with objects such as stones (stoning). There are also honor killings, which is when family members kill a female member of their family for trying to divorce their husband, adultery, or even being raped because it brings "shame" on that family. "Homosexual activity is illicit under the sharia, however the prescribed penalties differ from one school of jurisprudence to another. For example these countries may allow the death penalty for sodomy though not for other homosexual activities: Iran, UAE, Sudan, Nigeria, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia. "-Wikipedia also mentions.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7232661.stm

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1535478/Sharia-law-is-spreading-as-authority-wanes.html

Apparently there are sections in cities across England that are "no-go" for non-muslims. Here cops will actually approach the borders and turn back because they no longer feel they have jurisdiction where Sharia Law is practiced. It would seem as though they are also pushing to have the muslim prayer announced over speakers 5 times a day throughout cities as well.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1574694/Bishop-warns-of-no-go-zones-for-non-Muslims.html

There is obviously a difference between muslims and muslim extremists BUT I must ask this, Why since 9/11 is muslim tradition becoming such a fast paced growing religion with practices? Especially when they make it very clear that they want to convert everyone to be muslim and kill the rest of us that oppose.

I see Europe as an early indicator of what we have coming to the states. There is no doubt that people in America will walk around and say it could never happen here. Yet, we have already seen muslim women get their own gym time at Harvard because men shouldn't be able to look at them. We are already seeing foot baths being put into public schools, where interestingly enough we aren't even allowed to have christian holiday decorations or even mutter the word "God". It can't happen here? America really is the sleeping giant because it IS happening here.

So, what is the solution?

posted by TheBoBo
I'm ready to pull out my BoBo hair - what little is left of it! I am getting really tired of this "them vs. us" attitude of our elected officials. When the hell are they going to do what is right for the American people as a whole rather than thinking about themselves and a small minority of the country?

One of the greatest things about hosting guest liberal bloggers here on Fridays is that I have gotten to meet some great individuals. What I have found is that while they hold some liberal views, we do agree on many things.

No, this is not a BoBo the Evil Conservative Clown is a closet liberal kind of post. What this is about is the fact that many of our liberal friends do share some conservative views (whether they will fully admit it or not) just as we conservatives do sometimes agree on some social issues that the liberals like. (Surely, none of my conservative friends out there can deny that we should help the underprivileged and underserved). The major difference between liberals and conservatives is how we accomplish the goals we commonly agree on. Again, I'm not talking about our liberal and conservative/democrat and republican politicians. I'm talking about the average American citizens.

When we talk to our neighbors, putting all politics aside, there is much common ground between us. Over the last 16 years the so-called elected officials and the main-stream media have done an excellent job of dividing this country into Liberals & Conservatives or Democrats and Republicans - and then there's everyone else. They have taken their "us versus them" politics on the hill and put it into our living rooms. The adage "united we stand, divided we fall" comes to mind here. The politicians have divided us and therefore have attempted to conquer we regular every-day citizens of America. They lulled us into apathy for a long time. The Hollywierdo's aided them by putting crappy, unimportant drivel on the idiot box. We became all too consumed with reality TV which in all reality has absolutely nothing to do with reality!

What is happening all across this nation is a slow awakening. People are starting to tune in to Washington D.C. now and realizing just how crooked both sides really are. The Democratic Party has been hijacked by the hard-core leftists such as the Moveon.org types leaving your regular working-class Democrats trying to figure out what has happened to their party. People like Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller are leaving their party. In the meantime, the Republicans have been hi-jacked by some really hard-core people on the right. Republicans have lost their way and it too has left the regular working-class Republican wondering what happened.

Special interest groups have taken over both major parties. Conservative Republicans have rejected their presidential candidate. Moderate Liberal Democrats reject Obama because of his far-left marxist views and social policies. Based on his voting record, he has been voted as the most liberal politician in D.C. Those who are supporting Obama are essentially rejecting Hillary because of who she is. Those are the individuals who can see what Republicans have been trying to tell everyone for years about the Clintons. They are self-serving politicians who are only out for one thing, and one thing only, power. They could care less about Americans. However, many of the Obama supporters only do so because they will toe the party line and vote Democrat regardless of the issues - and they reject Hillary - so they vote for "change" even though Obama represents the same old politics of D.C.

While Conservatives have openly stated they will not vote for McCain come November, we still have yet to hear from those Liberals and Democrats who will not vote for either Obama or Hillary. I'm sure they're waiting to see who wins the nomination. However, I fully believe there are many Democrats out there who feel the same as many Republicans - they've been abandoned by their party as well.

So - this comes back to the original question - what is the solution? The vast majority of Americans in this country do not identify with their respective parties any longer. We are neither hard-core left, nor are we hard-core right. We are the guys in the middle who bust our asses every day to keep food on the table, clothing on our families backs, and roof over our heads. We are the little guys who cringe whenever we pay $4.00/gal at the pump. As average working-class families where both mom and dad work outside the home, we have two cars that we have to fill up each week. This means we spend anywhere between $100 - $150 or more a week just in gasoline to get to work. That is $5,200 - $7,800 a year just for freakin' gasoline. Not to mention the fact that the price of food has gone up as well. Inflation is going up and our 3 - 5% annual raises are not catching up with the rise in the cost of living.

We are having these problems because of Washington, D.C. You cannot blame this on the Bush administration alone. We are where we are now because of policies from the Clinton era (we are not allowed to drill for oil anywhere in this country, we are not allowed to build new refineries anywhere in this country, and we are not allowed to build new nuke facilities without it costing taxpayers billions) in addition to the fact that he opened up trading with China and granted them "Most favored nation" status. Many of our jobs went overseas because of this Clinton policy. Clinton was also responsible for NAFTA, which as Perot so foretold, "sucked millions of jobs out of this country."

The Bush administration continued the NAFTA policies and the China trade policies. Bush went so far as to propose CAFTA and is now working on a Superhighway that goes from Mexico right on up to Canada. One of the worst policies ever implemented by the Bush administration is the "No Child Left Behind Act" which actually has left millions of kids behind. They forced millions of kids to drop out of high school. We are now at a national drop-out average rate of 33%. This is a 150% increase since this so-called education bill was approved and implemented.

How the hell did we as a people allow all of this to happen? How did we become so disengaged with our elected officials that we let them do whatever the hell they wanted? Liberals and Conservatives; Democrats and Republicans alike all across this country are now scratching their heads trying to figure out how we got in this mess, and moreover, how the hell do we get out of it? We've been so divided that we can't even seem to find a way to meet in the middle any more. McCain is not our answer. He is a lifelong politician and will only do what he feels is best for himself. He has spit on Conservatives all the way - so - no - don't tell me that he can reach across the aisle and work things out. That's bullshit! He's just another damned politician saying what he thinks people want to hear.

We as a nation need to find a way to come together and get rid of those minority senators and congressmen who do not represent us and our views. We don't need to wait until the next elections. According to the way the constitution was set up, the Governors of each state can recall the representatives at the will of the people. We have Senators and Representatives with such socialist views that they want government to take over corporations. There are those who are so marxist they want to dictate what we eat, how much we eat, and also want to control our thermostats. Essentially, there are those on the left that are so pro-big government they want the government to control our lives. Likewise, there are those who are so far on the right they want to control a woman's right to choose, they want to control a family's right to choose when it is time to let a loved one who is brain dead die, they want to control through a constitutional amendment who has the right to marry. Essentially, there are those on the far right who want to take over the rights that are generally afforded to the states and to the people of those states.

I don't know exactly what the answer is, but I know the solution is for those of us in the majority to stop conceding our rights to the minority. We need to find a way to get the message out and organize as one group. How many times have we heard someone on the radio or TV say, "I'm only one person. How can I possibly make a difference?" There are more of us saying that than there are who are actually pleased with the way government is running. Congress has an approval rating of 16% - an all-time low. That means that 84% of Americans disagree with them! Again, Congress is operating based on the minority and special interest groups. 84% of us want change in our Government. Obama, Hillary, and McCain as a President will not change Congress. Only We the People can change Congress. If anyone out there knows how we can break this strangle-hold, please let me know. I know I'm not the only one out there that feels this way!

Top Stories

The BoBo of The Week Award!

posted by TheBoBo
It's Baack! I found an article written over at a place called "Truth Here." Which is so funny considering there is nothing truthful out there! This guy is obviously full of himself. The most recent article, and the topic of this week's discussion that earns him The BoBo of The Week Award is dated April 20, 2008. Based on what I read, perhaps someone took him out!

The title of his post is "Freedom of Speech May Not But NOT Speaking." Does anyone else see something wrong with this title? For someone that is supposed to be talking about speech, he obviously has not grasped the English language himself. Just what the hell is he trying to say anyway?

Alright, let's get down to what drew my ire and attention - I often heard people quoting other people or heard about these kinds of people on the radio or newspaper, but I have never actually come across someone who openly made the following statement:

"...it should be clear that if we are also being threatened and attacked non-stop by Islamic radicals, as Dr. Roth says, then it is only ourselves that need be blamed."

And that is just in his opening paragraph. He consistently calls our attacks on Iraq in both instances as "invasions." Why is it that the far loony left considers us as invaders and occupiers? These guys kill me and piss me off to no end. Forget the fact that the first war really only lasted about 40 days and yet he states:

During the first Gulf War, the estimates by our generals of the number of Iraqi soldiers killed were from 50,000 to 200,000.
This guy obviously has never heard of a Battle Damage Assessment (BDA). I think our military knows exactly how to conduct a BDA that will yield a body count a helluva lot closer than a 150,000 spread. Secondly, if we managed to kill 50,000 - 200,000 soldiers in a 40 day period without using major ordinance, we truly are the most powerful nation in the world! I'd like to know where he got those figures. I conducted a google search and this is the closest thing I could find with those kinds of numbers from a USA Today chronology http://www.usatoday.com/news/index/iraq/nirq050.htm

Brig. Gen. Richard Neal in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, says Iraqi forces are in "full retreat" with allied forces pursuing; Iraqi POWs number 30,000-plus, number to climb to 63,000.
and this from a Post-Gazette article dated February 16, 2003 and titled "Estimates of deaths in first war still in dispute":

Estimates by experts at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, and by an air power survey headed by Johns Hopkins University Prof. Eliot Cohen put the number of Iraqi soldiers killed at 20,000 to 25,000, and the number of civilian deaths at 1,000 to 3,000. The Iraqi government claims 2,278 civilians were killed during the war.
Wow - that's a huge difference than what this guy is quoting! That's the other thing that really pisses me off about the anti-war crowd - they just make up their freakin' numbers without doing any actual research and then it just propagates across the Internet because no one is willing to look up the real facts!

And - it get's better - or worse - depending on how you look at it. Here's what he says next:

Why would it surprise any mature adult that many of the Islamic people are angry with the US government? To put it another way, how would we feel if 5% of Americans had been killed over a fifteen year period by a country that was supposed to be helping us? How would we feel if another country,s military invaded our country, damaged and destroyed many of our buildings, caused 20% of the people to flee their homes, destroyed most of our water supplies, removed our police, allowed tremendous chaos, wrote a new Constitution for us, and said they are giving us a better way of life?

Really? Which Islamic people would you be talking about? The millions of Iraqi's who have openly acknowledge their thanks and greatfullness to the U.S. and the other coalition forced for liberating them? Or, did you mean the Islamic terrorists who hate all Americans and all westerners because we don't worship a pedophile prophet?

Where did you come up with the fact that the U.S. has killed 5% of the entire Islamic population over a 15 year period? Are you perhaps just meaning 5% of the Iraqi population? Really? Even if this is what you meant, where did you come up with that figure? Also, are you trying to insinuate that the entire Iraqi population is Islamic? Well, for your information, 5% of the entire Iraqi population is Christian as reported in this June 2007 letter to President Bush: Congresswoman Eshoo urges Bush, Congressional members to protect Iraq's Christian population. Is this where you got the 5% number? Also, you stated it caused 20% of the population to leave their homes. In that same letter, it specifically states that as many as 2 million people have fled Iraq since 2003. In this 2008 report CIA-The World Factbook-Iraq, in July 2008 there were over 28 million people still living in Iraq. So, if you add the 2 million back in for a total of 30 million, that means that less than 10% of the actual population has fled. Additionally, you need to look at the demographics of the population that have left - which the vast majority tend to be those who supported Saddam Hussein and his government. Those who are left want democracy and welcome our support in their country to rebuild it. Again, your argument and your numbers are all false!

For someone who's blog is titled "Truth Here" you sure do lie a lot! Here's another little tidbit he throws at us:

WE are the country doing the bulk of the demonizing, terrorizing and killing. We are the ones who are terrorizing 27 million Iraqi, 31 million Afghani and now we,re beating the war drums against 65 million Iranians. We are the ones who are earning their hatred!
Again, look at the language used here. This guy must really hate our country, government, and our troops for him to imply that WE are the terrorists. Again, I would like to know why he thinks the Iraqi's and Afghani's hate us when it is in fact just the opposite. The only one's in Iraq and Afghanistan who hate the U.S. are the terrorist and insurgents that we are hunting down and killing. In fact, there have been reports - too numerous to link here but are well documented if you just do your own google search - where locals are turning the terrorists and insurgents over to American forces and local police.

As far as Iran goes - again - it is not the Iranian people who hate the U.S. In fact, they love us over there. They hate their own theocratic leaders. Again, do your own google search - there are probably hundreds of thousands of instances to be found where it is reported that the Iranian people are pro-America. The only one's in Iran who hate us are their leaders.

This next line has got to be the funniest thing I've ever read:

We can control the UN enough so that they get no aid and have sanctions placed against them.
He's referencing us controlling middle-eastern Muslims as a whole. There is no discern in his paragraph regarding terrorists. He lumps them all in to one category as if the U.S. and the rest of the Western civilization are against the ENTIRE middle-east and Muslims in particular. I don't think I need to go in to detail with regards to the statement. That's just plain funny!

I'm just going to quote a couple more paragraphs here. The remainder of his discussion surrounds the 9/11 attack and the fact that he is denying that we were in fact attacked by terrorists. He wants proof. You will have to go read this entire post yourself. Anyway, I just wanted to leave you guys with these last two paragraphs:

The FBI says Bin Laden is not wanted for the 9/11 catastrophe because they have no evidence linking him to it. Ø The BBC has already learned from CIA officials that Al Qaeda is just a propaganda creation to allow the Bush Administration to go to war. Ø Perhaps, most damning of all questions that don,t support Islam attacking us is why did the World Trade Center buildings collapse?

If these statements are true, then they force us into a flood of thoughtful questions and I,ll ask just the first two resoundingly painful and damning ones. First, if the FBI says there is no evidence for Bin Laden orchestrating the attacks on 9/11, then why did we invade Afghanistan to get him? And second, if Al Qaeda does not exist, then why did we invade Iraq to stop them from supporting Al Qaeda?

Do I even need to say any more? Do I even need to break down and refute everything here in detail? I'm just wondering where the Truth Here really is!!! It is for all of the above that this guy gets The BoBo of The Week Award. I have already sent him his award via e-mail. Considering this post is almost a month old and there have been no other posts since, I really do not expect to get a response. But, we'll see!

Top Stories
If you don't like it, then leave!!!

posted by TheBoBo
I'm getting really tired of these Muslims trying to change our American laws to suit their religious needs. If you want Sharia law then leave...go to one of those Muslim countries where you can be treated subserviently like you want to be...don't try to use our court systems to change things just because you feel persecuted for your religion. You think you feel persecuted here because a judge tells you you have to take off your veil in court? Try living in one of those muslim Sharia Law countries where you don't have any rights of access to the courts unless the males give you permission!!!

This idiot, Ginnah Muhammed (pictured above), goes to small claims court wearing that niqab. The judge tells her he can't rule on her case unless he can't observe her and tells her she has to remove it. She refuses, so the judge rules against her. Good for you, Judge!!!

First, that niqab is NOT traditional Muslim garb. The niqab is the full-body covering that is only worn by the most extreme and fundamentalist of Muslims. This is a relatively new form of garb that is not even subscribed or described in the Koran. The hijab, which is the simple veil and head-dress, is the traditional dress of the Muslim religion. The fact that she has chosen this form of dress is testament to her extremism.

She has taken this case to the Supreme Court saying her rights have been violated! Again, if you don't like the laws here, leave! We don't need your type of extremism here in this country. We don't want Sharia law in our country. A judge has every right to see who he is adjudicating. How the hell does he know it is you stepping in the court each time? A judge needs to be able to observe facial and body reactions. You wearing that niqab makes his job impossible.

Yes, I know we have extremists in our Christian and Jewish religions as well..but...none of them are trying to change the laws to fit their beliefs. Your religion has to fit our laws, not the other way around. You can't break the law under the guise of religion. The fact that you refuse to remove the niqab, which I reiterate is not traditional Muslim dress, just shows that you are not willing to conform to our laws. If you don't like our laws, then leave.

Is Barack the Flim-Flam-Man, the Pied Piper, a Snake Oil Salesman or the Man to Take Charge?

posted by wdmll
[Picture added by site editor.]
I wrote an earlier article in which I thought Barack Obama might be the right person for the change in our leadership (link). But since then, new information into the inner thoughts and beliefs of Obama are emerging (link). It must be pointed out that one can’t paint all people of a skin color, ethnicity, political persuasion, religion or any other category, as the same. However, There are those who collectively want to impose their racial and bigoted concepts on others. Bigotry and racism are not the sole possession of the right. Why is it, blacks on the right, such as Colin Powell (link) and Condoleezza Rice (link) are hated by blacks (the majority) on the left? Why are some black people, who have very light complexions like Alicia Keyes, attacking whites (link)?

Who is the real Barack Obama, what does he believe about racism, loyalty and America? What are his true feelings, what impact did his early Islamic background, his association with white and Jewish hate mongers, have on his beliefs (link)? His past association with an American terrorist (link), his upbringing and life experiences, in totality leads one to believe that he may not be the right person to lead this country. Recently, Obama told a group of elitists in San Francisco, about people in the Midwest, as Middle class small-town Americans, they cling to their guns and clothe themselves in the belief of a hell and brimstone god (link). He further stated, Midwest Americans are against foreigners or anyone that is different. He implied they are bitter white people, mad, mad as hell because their way of life is disappearing. Is Barack Obama right or is he the Flim-Flam-Man who is trying to sell his followers a bill of goods. Are his followers wearing blinders and want change and don’t care what change brings. Is he the Pied Piper, whose tune has hypnotized the masses? Is he nothing more than a snake oil salesman? Or does he have the answer and knows how to lead this country to a new enlighten future?

The First and Second Amendments of the Constitution give us certain rights (link). These rights include, ownership of guns if we choose and the right to believe or not believe, in God. We have the right to worship God if we choose to. We are a country of immigrants, but we have a right to be concerned about illegal immigration. We have the right to be bitter about the lose of jobs, and outsourcing of jobs.

So we have two groups of people, the bitter right of center who are recoiling in their shells and the left of center who believe it is their time, that Barack is the new Godless messiah who will lead them to the land of milk and honey. But in order for this to happen, the past has to be regurgitated and the transgressions of the white man have to be put on trial. In the barbershops, in the black churches and in black music, the proponents of hate whitie, are prevalent. The enlighten whites are flocking to fall in line behind Barack. Some are the young idealists and others are the rich and famous, others are the educated elitists. They all feel that it is time to correct the sins of the white man.

At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe the country is ready for a person of color. But when the revelations about his spiritual advisor became apparent and his associates, who also advocate hatred for this country and for white people, causes one to pause and ask, who is this man? What does change mean to him, what change is he advocating? Is the new Utopia going to be at the expense of the white man and his way of life? Are we to pay reparations for the past? I thought Barack and Michelle were the vanguard of the new upper class of blacks, who because of their success, were going to lead the way for other blacks. Setting the example, of how people of all ethnicities, have the potential to achieve the American dream. But it looks like more of the same, the outing of one section of society for another. The past has to be included in the study of history, so that we don’t make the same mistakes in the future. But, to live in the past is not the answer. If Barack Obama is going to be the vanguard of change, then he has to look to the future not the past.
