The Blogosphere & MSM react to the Obamas as depicted on the cover of The New Yorker... The campaigns are both outraged.

The following numbers are about to change: The Baltimore Sun reports Barack Obama was mentioned in about 0.75 percent of blog posts last month , compared with 0.39 percent for McCain. Even though each candidate has less than 1 percent of blog traffic, their numbers were still significant since it's rare for any celebrity ( Miley Cyrus, Tiger Woods, Amy Winehouse, George Bush, anyone) to capture even more than a few-hundredths of a percent of the blogosphere with its infinite range of topics.

Politico's Mike Allen reports that Obama took a question (from NBC's Athena Jones) on the cover of the New Yorker:

“The upcoming issue of the New Yorker, the July 21st issue, has a picture of you, depicting you and your wife on the cover. Have you seen it? If not, I can show it to you on my computer. It shows your wife Michelle with an Afro and an AK 47 and the two of you doing the fist bump with you in a sort of turban-type thing on top. I wondered if you’ve seen it or if you want to see it or if you have a response to it?”

Obama (shrugs incredulously): “I have no response to that.”

The magazine explains at the start of its news release previewing the issue: “On the cover of the July 21, 2008, issue of the The New Yorker, in ‘The Politics of Fear,’ artist Barry Blitt satirizes the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama’s campaign.”

They put Osama bin Laden on the wall of the Oval Office. And this is funny? Is the New Yorker so out of touch that they don't realize that much of America, or at least too much of America, harbors these very concerns about Obama and his wife?"

Osama, Where Art Thou?

This past Wednesday Matt Drudge dug up a 10-year old news item where Osama Bin Laden is quoted as saying he'd like to punish the west with $144 a barrel oil. OBL has gotten his wish. What now? Is there any real chance Osama'll surface before the November US Presidential election?

OBL is the one guy on earth I just wouldn't want to be. Guilty, even if proven innocent. Questions remain: did he REALLY mastermind 9/11? Videotape still exists of OBL's contacting BBC the afternoon of 9/11, saying he had nothing to do with it. Maybe he did plan a similar mission. Maybe you planned a bank robbery (knowing in your heart you'd never carry it out) and were shocked to see a robbery at the same bank that mimiced your operations plan.

Why am I giving OBL the benefit of the doubt? I still recall that mysterious VHS tape that was "found" unharmed in the rubble of a bombed out building in Afghanistan. The "star" of the video is a Maharishi Mahesh Yogi lookalike that the US government wanted the world to think was Osama Bin Laden! Could the powers behind that have thought people would be that dumb, to believe this imposter was OBL?

Like Roswell and the JFK killing, we'll never really know the truth of what really happened on 9/11. And if they did "find" Osama today and he "confessed" how would we know that agents hadn't threatened / targeted his loved ones and that the confession of a supposedly dying man (remember the bad kidneys angle) wasn't genuine?

We Know What Meds Osama Bin Laden Is Taking But Have No Clue Where He Is

This stuff it too good to make up.

According to Time Magazine, Osama bin Laden is close to death. The cause: imminent kidney failure.

And how do they know this? They're basing it on a leaked CIA report, in which one agency official is quoted as saying "based on his current pharmaceutical intake, [we] would expect that he has no more than six to 18 months to live and impending kidney failure."

So let me get this straight ... We have no idea where he's located, what he's up to, or how to capture him, but we do know what meds he's taking? Huh? Do we also know if he saw the movie WALL*E yet? Does he know that the Mets are still below .500 this late in the season, and that A-rod and Madge are (allegedly) getting it on?

Maybe he has a prescription on file at the Tora Bora Wallgreens, and that's how they found out. I remember when the CIA used to topple foreign regimes and move dictators around like chess pieces. Now they're rumaging through CVS dumpsters.
