StarCraft: Brood War continues the award-winning saga of galactic warfare as the Zerg, Protoss and Terrans struggle for their continued survival. StarCraft, Blizzard's best-selling, critically-acclaimed real-time strategy game, finally gets a sequel. Also known as StarCraft 2. StarCraft II is a computer game currently under development by Blizzard Entertainment as a sequel to the popular real-time strategy game StarCraft. First announced on May 19, 2007, in Seoul, South Korea, StarCraft II is being developed for concurrent release on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X. The game will be released after 2007, but a multiplayer demo was playable at BlizzCon 2007.

StarCraft is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The first game of the StarCraft series, it was released for Microsoft Windows on 31 March 1998.[1] With more than nine million copies sold worldwide as of 21 May 2007, it is one of the best-selling games for the personal computer. A Mac OS version was released in March 1999, and a Nintendo 64 adaptation co-developed with Mass Media Interactive Entertainment was released on 13 June 2000.[2] With its storyline adapted and expanded through a series of novels, StarCraft has three expansion packs available and a sequel in development.

The expansion was critically well-received, with many reviewers praising it for being developed with the care of a full game rather than as an uninspired extra.[3][4][5] As of May 31, 2007, StarCraft and Brood War combined have sold almost ten million copies.[6]

It is especially popular in South Korea, where professional players and teams participate in matches, earn sponsorships, and compete in televised matches.[7]

Do you like the PC Game starcraft? CreepColony.com is a very nice fan site related to Starcraft: Brood War and the second chapter (upcoming) of the saga (it has up to 1,6k feed readers). But what is StarCraft? It's probably the most famous real time stategy game of the last 20 years (First release is in fact dated 1998)! It is based on a war among three different galactic species (Terrans, Zerg and Protoss) and the gameplay is centered on the acquisition and control of two main resources...

Blizzard is developing StarCraft II for simultaneous release on the Windows and Macintosh PC platforms.

They put out a press release found here.

And there are some pre-release screens here .

More information about the game, including details on the single-player, multiplayer, and map-editor features will be announced in the next few months.
