I remember the first time I saw Steel Magnolias!
It was 1989 and I was desperately hoping to see a movie that was different from the typical blockbuster rock'em sock'em movies with the bad language and the violence that has so obviously affected this country's youth. When I walked out of the glorious Steel Magnolias, I was emotionally affected. Here was a flick about women, strong and dedicated to a cause, and no matter the obstacles put in front of them, they stood strong.
While Fried Green Tomatoes would later continue this trend, Steel Magnolias remains the most important all-female lead-cast movie in the history of cinema.
Here on this wikizine we will keep track of our lovely ladies, what they're doing (Julia just had her third baby, congrats!) and if there might be a sequel to the awesome movie!
