Shreya Saran is a famous South Indian Actress. Shreya rose to fame with her roles in Telugu movies Santhosham (2002), Tagore (2003), also in Tamil movies, Sivaji: The Boss (2007) and Azhagiya Tamil Magan (2007).

In 2007, Saran became a national figure after her performance alongside Rajinikanth in Sivaji: The Boss, after which she has signed several Bollywood, Tamil and also a Hollywood film.

Saran performs predominantly in leading heroine roles in high-budget and major studio films, ranging from romantic comedies and drama to science fiction and action thrillers.

Film Career

Shriya Saran at the launch of the film, Kanthaswamy.Shriya started her movie acting career with the Telugu film Ishtam (2001), produced by Usha Kiran Movies. This first film didn't fare too well at the box office, but she was noticed by many Telugu producers and directors. Soon she signed for Nagarjuna's Santosham (2002), which was a major hit and she didn't have to turn back since then. She was very lucky to get the most coveted chance to act opposite none other than Chiranjeevi at a very early point in her career. After the huge success of Tagore she became one of the top actresses of the south Indian film industry. Her later movies, such as Nuvve Nuvve and Bhageeratha, earned her many accolades.

She had one of the biggest hits in her career with Chatrapati opposite Prabhas. Shriya is also endorses for large brands like LUX and Head&Shoulders.

She made her Tamil movie debut in Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003), casted along with Telugu actor Tarun, Trisha Krishnan. The film was an average hit at box-office, but it was more importantly a musical hit due to music composed by A. R. Rahman.

She had plenty of glamorous roles lined up for her in Tamil, but instead continued with Tollywood for a year. She has made her comeback in Kollywood through the film Mazhai with Jayam Ravi.

The movie did well at the box-office.She beat other top actresses for the much coveted role with Rajinikanth in Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss which is the by far the costliest Indian film till date.

Most recently she appeared opposite Vijay in Azhagiya Tamil Magan and she is currently filming with Vikram in Kanthaswamy.

It was kept as a secret about the lead actress of Pur’s upcoming film with his brother Sai Shaker titled “Moodu Kothulu”. Among 3 monkeys one is Sai and the other one is Mummaith Khan. Now the name of the 3rd monkey has revealed. She is none other than beautiful Telugu speaking actress Bindu Madhavi who made her debut in “Avakayi Biryani” has bagged Puri’s film.

She is said to be playing the lead role in Puri Jagannadh’s next movie. Sairam Shankar is the hero while Bindu is paired opposite him and Mumait Khan plays an essential character. The movie will begin its regular shot from January 2009. Puri is said to have impressed with Bindu in “Avakayi Biryani” and signed her immediately.

Vishal is one of the young sought-after heroes in Tamil Cinema. He is now keen to bounce back in style with his next film. After taking his own time and listening to various scripts, he has zeroed in on 'Thoranai'. The film supposedly a commercial entertainer would go to the floors very soon. It will be a bi-lingual film to be made in Tamil and Telugu.The film is scheduled to commence shooting from December 3rd says film industry sources. Interestingly, Shriya Saran has been signed up to play the arm candy of Vishal in Thoranai.

There is a rumour in Kollywood that Selvaraghavan will direct Vishal's next venture. Yes, will direct Vishal in a film, but not Vishal's next.. Vishal's next film Thoranai will be directed by Bhoopathy Pandian’s assistant Ayyappan. Priyan will wield the camera and Mani Sharma has been signed up to score the music. The film is being produced by Vikram Krishna on behalf of G.K. Films’ Corporation.

Shriya is acting with Sarath Kumar in 'Jaggubhai'. She wants to mould her career in Tamil films well and is all set for her maiden Hollywood film. Shriya was the first choice to star opposite Vishal in Sathyam but the role went to Nayanthara due to call sheet issues. There were buzzes all over Kollywood that Shriya Saran is signed to pair up for actor Vishal.

Next, Vishal will act in a film to be directed by Selvaraghavan and produced by Ramesh Babu, who produced films like Pokkiri and Nam Nadu. The filming begins next year after Selvaraghavan completes Aayirathil Oruvan.
