Another hobby of mine (beside of posting some silly journal and trying to be a pro. photographer,) is searching for some (of my interest) books from a library’s website. All I have to do is searching for books I want to read then I order them and after a few days they will send me a letter to let me know that the books are ready for me to pick up at a library nearby. Apart from books I can also borrow movie and music DC. Nice!!!

The only thing I should be aware of is, I must return the books on time otherwise I have to pay for fines. I once returned books late and I got a fine for DKK200. That wasn’t nice.

Now, I’m reading “Pooh and the Psychologists” by John Tyerman Williams. It’s about Winnie-the-Pooh in his nurturing roles, solves problems of his friends.

John Williams put his friends into case study, from Pooh cures Christopher Robin’s Arktophobia, Pooh assists Piglet to mature, Pooh at his most eclectic with Tigger, The problem of Rabbit, Parenting : Kanga and Roo, Wol’s problems of communication and the last case, Eeyore : a case of clinical depression.

Eeyore’s case seems to be a very difficult case for Pooh. As you might remember, we first meet Eeyore in his Gloomy place, solitary, thinking sadly, and answering Pooh’s question..

“How are you?”

with…

“Not very how. I don’t seem to have felt at all how for a long time”

John Williams wrote about how Pooh used “Cognitive Psychology” (The meaning of Cognitive Psychology is in Psychology 101, remember? and I believe it’s also in wiki) to cure Eeyore’s depression.

“Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, “why?!” and sometimes he thought, “wherefore?” and sometime he thought, “Inasmuch as which?” …and sometimes he didn’t quite know what he was thinking about.”

Eeyore, stood by the side of the steam, and looked at himself in the water.

“Pathetic,” he said.

“That’s what it is. Pathetic.”

Then, looking at his reflection from the other side-

“As I thought,” he said. “No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that’s what it is”.

The book says, that is full of vital information and Eeyore was solitary in that thistly part of the Forest. Eeyore was very glad to when Winnie-the-Pooh arrived and interrupted his gloomy thoughts.

When Eeyore had his birthday party, he didn’t send out any invitations and obviously not tell anyone but Pooh came to the party and showed to Eeyore that he was not without friends who cared for his happiness. Pooh also has corrected several of Eeyore’s false perceptions, according to the book.

If you want to know about how Pooh used “Cognitive Psychology” in Eryore’s case and how he became a supper Psychologist, I guess you have to get a book.

Conclusion :

- Even Eeyore needs a friend.

- Winne-the-Pooh is a supper Psychologist, and

- After I stop smoking for 21 days, I have about “3x15x21= 945” minutes extra for reading and for writing a long journal, apparently.

Tiggers may not like honey, but apparently some art collectors do. An original drawing of A.A. Milne's popular children's characters Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger and Piglet sold for $50,000 at a Sotheby's London auction on Tuesday- beating all presale expectations. The oval pencil sketch by E.H. Shepard, one of children literature's most famous illustrators, shows Pooh dipping his paw into a pot of honey while sitting at a table as Piglet and Tigger look on.
