Six Degrees: The Paley Center talks to ‘Daily Show’ writers

The New York Times has a nice write-up posted of the panel discussion The Daily Show writers held at the Paley Center last week. From the New York Times:

You’d think that hundreds of people would have better things to do on a Friday night than go to a panel discussion at a museum. But the auditorium at the Paley Center for Media was packed elbow-to-elbow for the panel discussion “Writers Speak: A Potentially Regrettable Evening with the Writers of ‘The Daily Show,’” part of the fifth annual New York Comedy Festival last week.

This was no dry forum, though. The panelists were grown-up versions of those guys who sat in the back of class making wisecracks, and the discussion was a Ping-Pong exchange of zingers, quips, one-upping and wry understatement.

Oh, gosh, you betcha there are some red-faces at the Governor of Alaska's office. Two radio disc jockeys from Montreal managed to be introduced to Alaska Governor Palin and her staff as French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his assistant and the resulting conversation is just too funny. The Godzilla from Wasilla didn't catch on during the conversation, which lasted several minutes, until finally the DJs gave up and told her she had been pranked. She reportedly went rogue on her staff, crippling her elderly stylist and permananetly disfiguring her makeup man and tiara designer with hot coffee scars. [Source]

Since it might be viewed as unseemly to run against McCain in 2012 as his Vice President, speculation has again arisen Palin went rogue in the privacy of her voting box early this morning. The kid who does the vote tally in Wasilla moved the flip board for Obama as she left her voting both. With less than 7,000 residents, the final tally will be telling! [VOTE]
