Poll:Would you welcome Thierry Henry back to the Emirates? and Insidearsenal is changing…

posted by insidearsenal

Just when you thought that there was nothing left worth savouring this season, then Arsenal reserves came and rescued us. One of the advantages of having Arsenal TV on Setanta, Virgin or Online is the opportunity of watching the live reserve games every Monday or Tuesday evenings. The kick-offs are at 7 o’clock and the home games are played at the Barnet home ground at Underhill, where admission is free for Arsenal supporters/members.

Last night Arsene Wenger was present to see Neil Banfield’s protégés beat West Ham United 2-nil. Star of the show was one diminutive Jack Wiltshere. I raved about this 16 year old in my last reserves report, and I have to say, that seeing him play a full game was very rewarding. He possesses balance, good technical ball skills, but most importantly, he has an excellent footballing brain. That means that he selects the right option for passing, and makes the pass at the right time and with the right pace.

He is Alexander Hleb and Dennis Bergkamp rolled into one. His goal last night, a left foot curled shot into the top right hand corner of the West Ham goal is the best reserves goal I have seen scored this season. He had already laid on a superb assist to Rui Fonte, our Portuguese striker. The pass was sublime, a neat reverse pass into the space in front of an advancing Rui Fonte, who still had to change his pace and toe poke the ball inside the near post of the advancing keeper. A real poachers goal.

On the transfer front, Arsene Wenger is making noises that he believes that Alexander Hleb will stay at the club. No mention of Flamini signing his contract, and of course Barcelona are wanting to send Thierry Henry back to the Premier League. I for one would be sad to see Thierry Henry playing for another club in the Premiership, and if he were to return, it must be back to his spiritual home The Arsenal. Barca want £16million, and for a world class striker, who knows our club, that will be very cheap. Would this be step backwards? I think not. So vote and tell me if you agree. Would you welcome Thierry Henry back to the Emirates?

Finally InsideArsenal is changing to Arsenalinsider. A subtle change of name from Sunday 27th April. The change is being made because of your excellent support. We have grown vastly in terms of visitors to our site, and now the site is recommended as the premier Arsenal web fanzine for several mainstream media journalists. I believe this is because we cater for the young and old, and the fans home and abroad. We produce high quality original articles without swear words in every paragraph. Next season, we will be bigger with more on offer for our readers, so it is important that you save the link www.arsenalinsider.co.uk by using Control+D to your browser. This way you will not miss out on Fabregas the King and the rest of the team here.

Nicole Merry Stays Behind As Thierry Henry Goes To Barcelona

Today the full story is in the UK newspapers.

It looks as if the marriage is over and Thierry's wife, Nicole Merry, won't be going with him to Barcelona.

Nicole Merry, a model, is also known as Claire, her real name. Thierry and Claire appeared together in the excellent Renault va-va-vroom television adverts. They married in 2003 and have a two year old daughter Tea.

Thierry Henry released a statement which stated:

"Thierry is extremely saddened by the breakdown of his marriage. He is anxious to move on with his life and maintain the best possible relationship with Claire for the benefit of their daughter Tea, whom he loves very much. Thierry would like to stress that contrary to reports his move to Barcelona was entirely for footballing reasons."

It is said that the marriage got into trouble because Nicole / Claire Henry found pictures and messages saved on his mobile phone.

Subscribe to Celebrity Insider - Photos & News
Subscribe to Celebrity Insider - Photos & News by Email
