49ers' Vernon Davis Gives Away Under Armour Gear to Middle School Kids

The San Francisco 49ers may be going through a major transition with the firing of head coach Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary taking his place, but that's not hindering tight end Vernon Davis from thinking about the kids in the hood. He recently donated $7,500 worth of Under Armour gear to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that are a part of the 49ers Academy.

"It was tops and bottoms to the kids so they can have something to wear when they're in physical education," Davis wrote in his blog. "It was important to me because those kids didn't have anything to work out in. They've been wearing the same thing for years so it touched my heart just to be able to go out and reach out to them by donating some of my sports apparel that I get from Under Armour to them. They were excited. They made me cards and they told me they loved me which meant a lot to me. I definitely felt the same way. When you're young, receiving something like a gift or whatever it may be, that's like the highlight of your day being able to receive something from someone because you can cherish that forever. It's very special especially for a kid who comes from nothing, that doesn't have much, that can't afford many things. For you to give them something new, especially some new sports apparel that they see on TV day in and day out. It's a pretty neat deal."

The 49ers Academy is a public alternative school in East Palo Alto, California that is supported by a private nonprofit agency. Davis has an endorsement deal with Under Armour and was able to give away dozens of shorts, shirts and socks to the kids taking P.E. classes and participating in the organized sports programs.

Told y'all: Vernon is not hitting that...

Vernon Davis’ publicist Eddie Rhodman hit up the girls over at TheYBF.com, (shout out to Nicole!) where he shared the following statement:

During Big Tigger’s 7th Annual Celebrity Weekend in DC, Vernon Davis posed for pictures with Black from Flavor of Love, as he did with most of the celebrities present that weekend. Rumors have started to fly that he and Black are dating, or that he is her new man. This is ABSOLUTELY not true. Vernon is single and is not officially dating anyone.
We know Eddie, we know...now back to the regularly scheduled party program. Did anyone else hear Vivid Fusion disbanded (shout out to Muna)??? Sad stuff.

Apparently, all the bloggers are going crazy over Black’s supposed confession of her new man Vernon Davis (a DMV native). I don't believe it...they say they were canoodling all weekend at Big Tigger's Celebrity Classic. For one...I was there all weekend and (sorry VD) but he was canoodling with everyone, not just Black. And furthermore, I saw with my own pretty brown eyes VD a little too pressed on someone else and she wasn't a D-list celeb. Things that make you go hmmm...

Bloggers are also reporting that Seezins’ is dating Seattle Sonics Kevin Durant, and Prancer is messing with Wizards player Gilbert Arenas...hmmm..."We don't believe you, you need more people".

GROUPIE ALERT! It's glad to see a young brother doing his thing; UMCP alum Vernon Davis (aww, I remember him back when he was living in Baltimore Hall) will be at Pure (1326 U Street NW), formerly known as Barnun tonight. GROUPIE ALERT!

I can't believe I found this sexy fine picture of him...lemme find out! Anyway, he'll be there along with 'models' Tara, Ahni Luv and Lizz Robbins.

Last Friday at Pure was on and popping (read about it here), so don't miss out. The rest of us will be at Ibiza tho... :)
