According to Colors: What They Mean and How to Make Them, violet represents the harmony of the universe since it's a combination of red(yang) and blue(yin). And it looks like there's a whole lot of harmonizing happening this season!

VPOD: Hats Off

I was paging through a fashion layout in a magazine the other day and realized that every shot--every single shot--was accessorized with a hat and gloves. And I'm not talking about mittens and cable knit keep-your-head-warm hats. I'm talking about velvet or leather gloves and super-chic toppers. And those accessories are what gave each look its panache.

With the economy tanking and all of us watching our Ps & Qs (pennies and quarters), it's nice to know that if you reaccessorize your LBD with some hot new accessories, no one will even notice it's been in your closet since the last presidential election.

Hybrids may be all the rage in the automotive industry but I predict they'll soon be acquiring market share in the fashion industry as well. Just one look at today's VPOD and you'll see what I mean.
