Now, before I continue, I must say that I love Hallmark. However, not all situations or people are worthy of a Hallmark card. And that's where SomeEcards come in handy.

Long before the internet came along, people communicated mostly by phone and mail. With the advent of the internet, the art of the written letter was virtually lost. What was once something saved and tied with a ribbon has now been read and deleted in an instant. Too many of our memories of been relegated to these words on a screen, barely surviving a flicker of time.

What would it hurt to take a stroll back in time? Taking a moment to pick out a card with a sentiment we feel. That little thrill when we open our mailboxes and see an envelope addressed to us. The excitement of opening that envelope and feeling the paper between our fingers as we slide the card out. Reading the words imprinted on the front, opening it, maybe finding another surprise that falls out and floats to our feet. The delight we feel when we when discover that not only did we receive a card, but also a gift.

Beautiful, handmade and unique, what could indicate more that we are thought of? Whimsical flowers that say "Thinking of You." Cheerful cupcakes wishing a "Happy Birthday" to a lucky boy or girl. Pastel hearts sending love. Buoyant butterflies fluttering their thanks. So many reasons to send a card, so many wonderful designs. Whatever the occasion, whatever the sentiment, there is a card for you and the ones you love.

One minute I'm obsessed with card making, then its photography (well that will never go away) and now its.....graphic design? With no formal training and a silly little photo editing program - I came up with these little designs:
A paper lantern (I don't know why its not on a white background - remember I'm new to this)

2:22 pm on a July afternoon and I'm stuck inside. Ugh what I would give to be at the beach right now! According to weather.com the outside temp is a perfect 72 degrees.

So to keep my spirits up I made these little paper umbrellas and found this wonderful quote. Now if I just close my eyes for a minute I can feel myself laying on the beach, toes in the sand, sun on my face and a margarita in hand.
