I was reminded of this by an offhand remark someone made on Facebook or here about missing one point on an AP exam and the negative effect that had on ensuing years of her life.  What I thought was “if she had any idea how those exams are graded she would be really irritated.”  I have no idea if the missing point was arbitrary or deserved but know the grade was determined during a weeklong mass grading.
