Top-ranked Roger Federer has been drawn to face both U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Murray in the group round of the ATP World Tour Finals. Federer, who lost to Del Potro in the U.S. Open final, will also face Fernando Verdasco in the round-robin phase in Group A. Second-ranked Rafael Nadal was drawn into Group B on Wednesday with Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko and Robin Soderling. The top two players in each group will advance to the semifinals of the season-ending tournament, which starts Nov. 22 at the O2 Arena in London. The final is set for Nov. 29.

World number six Andy Roddick has decided to pull out of next week’s Barclays World Tour Finals due to knee injury. It can be remembered that Roddick also pulled out of last year’s year-end event after sustaining an injury after playing one match. “I’m really disappointed. I love playing in London and I’ve heard so many good things about the venue. I have not fully recovered from my knee injury and I won’t be able to compete.
