Wimbledon TV Coverage
Wimbledon TV Coverage : This year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament is being transmitted live by NBC and ESPN. Today (July 3rd 2009) the Men’s semi-final matches between World No. 2 Roger Federer and Germany’s Tommy Haas of the Day 11 is going to begin at 7 a.m EST. The match will be shown on ESPN360.com network from 7a.m.
NBC is supposed to beam the Wimbledon semi-final matches live on the television screens from 12 to 5 p.m EST on July 3rd, Friday, and from 9 a.m to 2 p.m on July 4th Saturday, and from 9 a.m to 3 p.m on Sunday, the 5th of July.
ESPN2 had aired the women’s semi-final match between Serena Williams and Elena Dementieva, live for five hours from 7 a.m on Thursday. The semi-final match between Venus Williams and Dinara Safina has been pushed to the noon to 5 p.m slot by NBC.
Both the Williams sisters have beaten their respective opponents in the semi-final matches and are now pitched against each other in the Wimbledon finals to be held on Saturday. This is the second time in a row (and fifth time all through) that the Williams sisters will be facing each other in the finals. No doubt it is going to be an extremely important showdown and it will hold considerable charm in this year’s Wimbledon.
As for the men’s semis, Roger Federer is on his way of setting record, a straight seven Wimbledon finals, after overcoming the semi ‘hurdle ‘with Haas. Also, the outcome of the semi-final game between Andy Roddick and Andy Murray is uncertain till now. Who will reach the finals?
