A memorabilia dealer who blames his heart attacks on the stress of being robbed at gunpoint by O.J. Simpson is suing the former football star and five other men who were in the room during the heist, seeking unspecified civil damages. A lawyer for Bruce Fromong said Monday he intends to show a Nevada jury that his 55-year-old client's four heart attacks were caused by the emotional stress of the September 2007 robbery in a Las Vegas casino hotel room and its aftermath. An attorney for OJ Simpson pleaded Monday with the Nevada Supreme Court to release the former football star on bail pending his appeal for conviction at his 2008 robbery and kidnapping trial. Simpson's lawyer Yale Galanter said the fallen sport hero's trial was riddled with errors and that the 62-year-old was not a flight risk. Ex-US football star OJ Simpson has been jailed for up to 33 years for the kidnap and armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas. Describing Simpson as arrogant and ignorant, Judge Jackie Glass said the evidence against him was overwhelming. He and an accomplice, Clarence Stewart, were convicted on 12 counts in October. For many in the courtroom it was obvious that the sentencing served more a purpose than the current crime, however, the judge presiding over the case made it perfectly clear that OJ was not being sentenced based off of his past but the crime commited involving kidnapping and burglary charges.
