1. The 'True Crime-Style' Format Was a Good Idea...in Theory
One of the most redeeming qualities about an anthology series is that each season offers a fresh new story. This time around, AHS shook things up even more by offering Roanoke in the "true crime-style" we saw from episodes 1-5. After transitioning back to a traditional AHS style, however, something was lost in translation. The story felt rushed, thrown together, and somewhat convoluted. Exhibit A: The majority of the show's actors were killed off in the meager span of an episode and a half, leaving only four actors (Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Adina Porter, and Wes Bentley) to pick up the pieces.
