Alessandra Ambrosio Has High Fashion Crossover Appeal

Ambrosio is having a great year. The number of models who have had successful and convergent high fashion and commercial modeling careers is extremely slim. In recent years, the only top model to land high-end campaigns while signed on a lucrative Victoria's Secret contract has been Gisele Bundchen, who strutted for the lingerie brand and starred in Dior campaigns in the same period of time.

But with curvier shapes seeing a reprisal in the world of high fashion, some lingerie models are landing top gigs in Paris and Milan. This week, The Cut revealed that men's magazine favorite Alessandra Ambrosio will be the face of Moschino's fall 2010 campaign. Earlier this year, Ambrosio walked in shows for Prada, Giles, and Louis Vuitton, at times alongside fellow Victoria's Secret angels Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima.

Could this signal the reemergence of the supermodel?
