Goldie Hawn And Kurt Russell Are The Santa And Mrs. Claus We Never Knew We Needed
The couple, who recently became sixth-time grandparents, play Mr. and Mrs. Nick in Netflix's newest holiday offering.
We hate to break it to you, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, but Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are the new King and Queen of Christmas.
Just when you thought you couldn't love the OG Hollywood It couple more, Russell and Hawn have taken on the roles of Mr. and Mrs. Nick in Netflix's newest holiday offering, The Christmas Chronicles. Hawn doesn't appear until the last few minutes of the film, which makes her cameo all the more delightful.
The Christmas Chronicles is about Santa's Christmas Eve operation gone haywire. Siblings Teddy and Kate, who recently lost their dad, decide to make their Christmas extra special by catching Santa Claus live on camera. They don't think they'll actually see old Saint Nick, but when he makes a pitstop at their house, they get the biggest surprise of their lives.
In thrilled disbelief, they hop on Santa's sleigh to get a closer look. While galloping across the sky, Santa is shocked to see two strange kids sitting at the back of his sled, and he loses control of his ride. With a broken sleigh in tow, Santa has no means of delivering the rest of the gifts to kids across town. With no other recourse, he enlists the help of Teddy and Kate to save Christmas.
During their journey around the city, Santa is careful to keep their shenanigans secret to avoid the wrath of Mrs. Claus. Fast forward to the end of the film, when it's revealed she was aware of their antics the whole time. Whoops!
Hawn isn't the only member of Russell's family to make an appearance in the flick. The couple’s son, Oliver Hudson, also appears as Teddy and Kate's late father. Kate Hudson's son, Bing Bellamy, also makes a brief appearance! We would've loved a cameo from Hudson herself, but she welcomed her daughter, Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, on October 2, so we'll allow it.
The Christmas Chronicles is now streaming on Netflix.
