Jennifer Lopez's 'American Idol' Return is 'Not Happening'

The American Idol new judges rumor mill has been out of control for weeks, but now it looks like we can cross one name off the list.

A source tells E! News that former judge and risqué leotard-wearer Jennifer Lopez will not be returning for Idol's thirteenth season. "It's not happening," a source says.

That's a far more concrete response to the rumors than the one Lopez herself gave to Ryan Seacrest this week when she appeared on his radio show. "I don't know what's happening over there," she told the Idol host. "I don't know. We will see. I'm always open to the infinite possibilities that the universe has to offer. So you never know."

American Idol is reportedly trying to put together an all-alumni judging panel that would include Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Lambert, but the addition of new executive producer Per Blankens may throw a wrench in those plans. Season 12 judges Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj have already publicly exited the long-running reality series, while fellow judge Keith Urban is content to just let the chips fall where they may.
