Brad Pitt Copies His Lovers' Looks In The Most Hilarious Decades-Long Identity Crisis
Over the course of his career, the actor has perfected the art of twinning with his significant others.
They say the longer you’re with someone, the more you start to look like them (because we tend to act similarly and mimic each other's facial expressions). This is also common with dogs and their owners. But when’s the last time you heard of someone flat-out imitating his or her partners' looks — especially a handsome celeb like, ahem, Brad Pitt? Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but we can’t get over how the actor has been copying his lovers’ styles for decades... let alone how long it took us to realize. Now that we’ve all made this discovery, let me walk you through a history of Pitt and his dates sporting matching 'fits that were hot, not, and everything in between. I think the secret’s in the hair — and definitely the shades.
Let’s start with Sinitta Malone, who Pitt dated on-again, off-again in the ‘80s. The singer wore a lot of black, and Pitt was spotted in biker jackets with her more than once.
After a few dalliances, he embarked on a four-year relationship with his Too Young To Die? co-star, Juliette Lewis. Pitt and Lewis were spotted sporting matching shaggy haircuts not long after. During their time as a couple, they rocked super ‘90s looks to complement their super ‘90s love affair. See the striking resemblance below.
Then, in 1994, there was Gwyneth Paltrow. Paltrow and Pitt were together for three years after his brief relationships with Geena Davis and Thandie Newton. What can I say about this relationship that hasn’t already been said? Paltrow was the love of his life, he said, yet their engagement fell apart only seven months after he proposed. Luckily, their matching platinum blonde hair, tailored menswear, round sunnies, and sly smirks will live on (the internet) forever.
One of Brad’s longer relationships was his fairytale marriage to Jennifer Aniston. The picture perfect couple was together for six years and always in sync — at least where their hairdos were concerned. Whether they sported beachy waves or crimped blonde locks, Aniston and Pitt were America’s sweethearts — the twinning couple we all rooted for at one time or another.
That is, until Angelina Jolie came along. The actress, director, and humanitarian had two weddings under her belt before she became one half of Brangelina. Her signature style is classic, sleek, and sexy, and guess what? Pitt was fully on board. The couple lasted for 12 years and had six kids together. When Jolie wore a side part, Brad did, too. When she slicked her hair back, he did the same. And when she let her mane down, he made sure his golden locks were just as luscious.
He’s laid pretty low since his last divorce, but we're curious to see who he’ll end up with next. Has he finally developed his own style? I’d love a toned down, all-American look. I'm thinking salt-and-pepper hair, jeans, tees and an intellectual pair of eyeglasses.
How about you?
