Rachael Ray Kills Anthony Bourdain with Kindness

No Reservations's Anthony Bourdain has made no secret of his disdain for talk show host Rachael Ray in the past, referring to her as "bobblehead” and “freakazoid." Earlier this month he took to his Travel Channel blog to talk about her in a post titled "How Can I Miss You, When You Won't Go Away?" Evidently he was completely confused after Ray booked the New York Dolls (one of Bourdain's favorite bands) to perform at her South by Southwest festival, calling into question his dislike of her.
This development ...following hot on the heels of Rachael saying nice things about me on Nightline has caused me no small amount of confusion, panic, and misery. I don't know whether to go out and shoot a puppy-or send Rachael a fruit basket. It just does me no good at all to think of Rachael as a Dolls fan. It's really only a matter of time now until my daughter looks up from her grilled cheese and says "Yummo!!" The New York Daily News reports that after hearing news of Bourdain's comments, Rachael responded by sending over a fruit basket to his house on Monday, accompanied by a note asking that he please refrain from shooting any pups. Classy.

Bourdain's reps say they don't know anything about the basket, but Ray's publicist did comment: “With regard to Tony’s blog comments, Rachael has enormous respect for Tony and hopes he can make it down to SXSW next year. And while Rachael knows he would never hurt an animal, she’s still hoping he can send some fruit, too.”

It should be mentioned that Ray wasn't the only celebrity chef Bourdain took a stab at in his blog post.
Only repeated viewings of Sandra Lee on YouTube slathering canned frosting on her "Kwaanza Cake" with an insane glint in her eye (a piece of video every American should see as a cautionary exercise-like a particularly gruesome highway safety film) can make me feel like I'm playing for the right team.
