Asafa Powell Takes Second at the IAAF Diamond League

(Getty Images)more pics »Asafa Powell couldn't beat Bolt to the line.  (Getty Images)Asafa Powell couldn't stop Usain Bolt today.  Bolt won the men’s 100 meter race in 9.84 seconds.  Asafa Powell was 0.07 seconds behind.  Bolt and Powell are considered two of the fastest men on earth.

One of the most impressive results of the meet came from David Oliver of the United States.  Oliver clocked 12.89 seconds in the 110 hurdles.  He was only 0.02 seconds off the world record, set by Dayron Robles.

Many of the world's best Track & Field athletes competed in the event. Jeremy Wariner  won the Men's 400 meters in 44.49 seconds.  Abubaker Kaki of Sudan won the Men's 800m. Anna Alminova took home the prize in the women's 1500 meters.  Blanka Vlasic won the women's high jump and Brittney Reese won the women's long jump.  Check here more results from the IAAF Diamond League meet.
