George Clooney Charms His Wife, Everyone Else During Golden Globes Speech
His ex-girlfriends probably weren't amused, but everyone else loved it.
George Clooney has always been a charmer — just ask any of his ex-girlfriends from over the years. But when he accepted his lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes Sunday night, he talked about his new wife Amal Alamuddin in a way that made the whole room go "Awwww." (His ex-girlfriends probably weren't as impressed, however.) This, ladies and gentlemen, is Clooney in love.
After addressing his career achievements — and humbly talked about all the times he didn't win — he turned the focus to his personal life. He looked out at his gorgeous new bride in the crowd and said: "It's a humbling thing when you find somebody to love, especially when you've been waiting your whole life."
We're calling it right now: That quote is going to be sold on magnets on Etsy starting tomorrow.
Anyway, the lovefest didn't end there. "Whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband," he added, which officially sent the Internet into a fit of Clooney adoration.
While this was all going down, Mrs. Clooney was perched at her seat looking typically flawless in a glamorous black gown and white gloves that she apparently stitched herself (because of course) and 29.62 carats of Harry Winston diamond earrings.
