3 Stars Who Changed Their Mind About Marriage

There are plenty of celebrities out there who are staunchly against walking down the aisle — for personal reasons, political reasons, because they don't have the "marriage chip," you name it. But not everyone in that anti-marriage bunch stays there — these three stars have recently decided that getting hitched isn't so bad.

Levine addressed his change of mind with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show after got down on one knee last July. "I remember talking to you one time, you telling me you were never going to get married, and now you're engaged," Leno said on his show in October 2013.

"Famous last words: ‘I'll never get married,'" Levine said. "You know, I still don't think you have to get married, unless you meet someone that makes you want to marry them. And then you marry them and it's wonderful."

George Clooney

In 2012, when he was dating Stacy Keibler, he made it clear that marriage wasn't ever on his mind. "I understand that it's a subject of interest for people. But sometimes it exists only because it came up years ago. It becomes this conversation piece that constantly resurfaces. I don't talk about it because I don't think about it," he said.

Then, without warning, he popped the question to his British lawyer girlfriend Amal Alamuddin in April and nearly broke the Internet in the process. They're supposedly tying the knot later this year in Italy.

Jenny McCarthy

I think there's something wonderful about people wanting to stay together because they want to stay together." At that time, she had been dating Jim Carrey for about a year.

They went on to have a five-year relationship before calling it quits in 2010, without the need for all the pesky divorce paperwork.

Then, surprisingly, she announced her engagement to New Kids on the Block star Donnie Wahlberg in April 2014, after less than a year of dating. They're in full wedding mode these days and are set to tie the knot "in the next few weeks."
