'Avengers: Infinity War' Breaks Box Office Record For Biggest Opening Weekend In History
Marvel's newest creation has officially stolen the achievement from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'
Avengers: Infinity War is coming for its big studio competition: the highly-anticipated film has pulled off the top opening weekend ever, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sorry, Star Wars fans!
The last film in the Avengers franchise grossed $250 million in the U.S. alone and earned an additional $380 internationally. This hefty $630 million far outreaches Star Wars: The Force Awakens's $248 million domestic record and The Fate of the Furious's global $541.9 million record.
As THR points out, Infinity War also pulled off the biggest Saturday of all time.
Even more impressive, the film hasn't even hit China yet.
