Beyonce Teased a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Clip, But What Does It Mean?

Beyonce has gotten really good at the late-night Internet surprises. First it was an entire album, now it's a Fifty Shades of Grey teaser. That's right, Saturday night it was Bey who showed the world the first video glimpses of Christian Grey's hand and Anastasia Steele's thighs. Oh, and in the background, a breathy, sexed-up version of "Crazy in Love" played.

Before we get any farther, check out the short clip — maybe a time or two?

The official trailer for the steamy movie moms around the world are waiting for comes out Thursday, so this clip was thoroughly a surprise. And Beyonce wasn't doing any explaining. She simply wrote "#fiftyshades" as the caption for the teaser. The novel's author E.L. James simply tweeted the same hashtag with a link to the video  on Beyonce's Instagram page. Obviously they're enjoying keeping the world guessing.

There's only a couple of reasonable explanations, however.

1. She's somehow involved with the soundtrack.
We'll get crazy and assume she has re-recorded "Crazy in Love". The lyrics certainly work for the S&M movie: "I look and stare so deep in your eyes/I touch on you more and more every time/When you leave i'm beggin you not to go/Call your name two, three times in a row."

2. She IN the movie.
Bey hasn't starred in a movie since 2006's Dreamgirls, but we all know she's talented enough to tackle pretty much any role she deems worthy. This seems like the more far-fetched option, but, hey, dare to dream. Maybe if she's not starring in it, Beyonce will be some sort of sexy coach for the actors. No doubt Anastasia can learn from Beyonce in that department, too.

3. She has nothing more to do with the movie.
Maybe her involvement with the flick ends here. However, it seems highly unlikely that Bey would record a few sexy seconds for an Instagram teaser then bow out — right? When this gal does something, she typically goes all-out. We assume the same goes for Fifty Shades. At least that's what the Internet is really hoping for. Hearts are even stopping because of this news! Perhaps we'll find out the truth behind the teaser before the full trailer drops Thursday, since it's basically impossible to keep something this juicy a secret for too long.
