"We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," Giuliana told E! News. Bill added, "We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey." Through the Rancics' reality show, Giuliana & Bill, fans have been privy to their failed in vitro attempts and a tragic miscarriage, which made news of their first child all the more uplifting.
"We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world," said Giuliana, "and we want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for their love."
The Rancics will welcome their firstborn into the world sometime in late summer via a gestational surrogate, which means, genetically speaking, the baby will be 100 percent Giuliana and Bill, but will be carried and delivered by another woman.
While talking about the pregnancy on the Today show, Bill explained how lucky they were that surrogacy worked out, "It was pretty emotional because this was our last stop." Due to Giuliana's cancer treatment, doctors previously advised them to wait years before attempting to have a child. "We had those two embryos that we had banked prior to learning about the breast cancer, and with medicine she was on, this was our last effort."
Fans and supporters of the happy couple can expect to see a brand new season of Giuliana & Bill on the Style network, and the pair have also signed on to host the Eva Longoria-produced dating show Ready for Love. So expect to hear more from the happy couple in the coming year.
