Jennifer Lopez split from ex-husband Marc Anthony nearly two years ago, but she seems to be doing just fine. She's raising two beautiful kids, Emme and Max, and is currently dating her backup dancer Casper Smart, who just so happens to be 18 years her junior. But, age is only a number, right?
In a recent interview with ABC News, the 43-year-old singer opens up about being married three different times, her plans to enjoy the non-married life for a little while, and, more important, her "non-traditional" family life:
"It's about love and that's what I constantly remind myself of because I kind of let society get inside my head, 'Oh, it shouldn't be like this. I did this, I did that. I failed,'" she said. "And it's like, no. They're happy, they're healthy, they're loved more than anything in the world and they're going to be fine. I want them to know that."That might be one of the reasons why the former American Idol judge is executive producing The Fosters, a new ABC Family drama about a multi-ethnic family of foster and biological kids who are being raised by two mothers.
"The shows I grew up with were not like this," Lopez said. "This really has base themes that are important, which is family equals love, a place where you are accepted, completely, loved unconditionally, protected."
