Hmm... Blake Shelton Might Be 'People's Sexiest Man Alive 2017
Rumors are circulating that the country star has won this year's honor. Meh.
Shelton, whose newest album Texoma Shore released Nov. 3, would be the second coach from The Voice to be granted the honor, which went to Adam Levine in 2013. Should word prove accurate, he will be announced as the big winner on Tuesday, appearing on People's annual issue on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old would be the first country music star to receive the title.
Some may consider it a surprising decision on the mag's part given the "Sure Be Cool If You Did" singer's problematic past. In August of 2016, he called a series of resurfaced tweets "inappropriate, not racist" following public backlash.
In another tweet, Shelton reportedly said that he wished "the d--khead in the next room would either shut up or learn some English so I would at least know what he's planning to bomb!!"
Still, Shelton is somewhat of a darling in the country music scene, and has gained notoriety since he began dating alt. legend Gwen Stefani in 2015.
