Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie Is 'Awake and Talking' Following Sunday's Tragic Accident

Finally, some good news regarding Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie. 

According to People, the singer's daughter is "awake and talking" following Sunday's ATV accident in Kentwood, Louisiana. On Tuesday, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department released a statement that was given to People via Spears' family rep: 

The statement continues: 

On Sunday, Maddie was riding her Polaris ATV when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch. The ATV flipped into a pond, and Maddie became submerged under water for several minutes.

Jamie Lynn Spears and her husband, Jamie Watson, immediately rushed to her rescue, but could not release her from her seatbelt. Medics arrived within two minutes and assisted in freeing her.
