Jamie Lynn Spears' Daughter Maddie Is Headed Home After Suffering Serious Injuries in an ATV Accident
The family thanked fans 'for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference.'
Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie Aldridge is well on her way to a full recovery after flipping her Polaris ATV on Sunday.
8-year-old Aldridge was reported as being in serious condition by TMZ after her ATV flipped unexpectedly. She was underwater "for several minutes and unconscious," and later air-lifted to a nearby hospital. While it was originally reported that Spears was not present at the time, subsequent details revealed she was, in fact, on the hunting trip with her daughter.
On Friday, Spears' husband Jamie Watson posted a picture to Instagram of the family leaving the hospital.
"Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover," Watson wrote. "Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed."
25-year-old Spears, who had Maddie when she was 17 years old, is best known for her role as Zoey Brooks in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101. She is the younger sister of pop sensation Britney Spears and the daughter of Lynne and Jamie Spears.
On Wednesday, Britney updated fans on her niece's status via Instagram.
We're relieved to hear of Maddie's recovery, and continue to keep the Spears family in our thoughts.
