Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke Is a Sight to Behold
Stand-alone film, anyone?
Joe Manganiello has played many wonderful roles — a storied dancer, a crafty werewolf, the heftiest smurf of them all, and husband to the great Sofía Vergara, to name a few. Now, thanks to Justice League, he can add fearsome villain to his resume: Say hello to Deathstroke.
In case you've yet to catch him in the newly released DC flick, the True Blood alum has you covered. On Friday, Manganiello shared a detailed pic of himself as the newest DC baddie.
Complete with eye patch, black and orange suit, muscles for days, and weapons galore, Deathstroke (A.K.A. Slade Joseph Wilson) is a sight to behold. A powerful assassin and mercenary, Deathstroke was gifted with superhuman agility and strength by an experimental serum. He also has the ability to use up to 90% of his brain at any given moment, making him a strategical genius. Originally one of Batman's biggest threats, this incredible character has embarked on a journey of his own.
Justice League spoilers lie ahead! After the film ends, Manganiello's Deathstroke appears in a special post-credits clip. In the clip, Deathstroke meets with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, who proposes they form a group of villains to fight off the Justice League. It's a pointed conversation that suggests a baddie follow-up film might be on the horizon. It's also an indication Deathstroke will become a major DC star in the future.
As a matter of fact, Deathstroke may just be getting his a standalone film. Back in October, The Hollywood Reporter shared The Raid director Gareth Evans was in talks to direct a movie starring Manganiello's badass character.
As of Saturday, Nov. 25, Deathstroke was listed on Manganiello's IMDb page.
