L'Oréal unveiled a commercial for its new Elvive haircare line during the Golden Globes, and fans have mixed feelings.

The commercial features Stranger Things star Winona Ryder and pushes a message that "it's never too late," presumably alluding to both Ryder's career comeback and Elvive's restorative properties. In it, Ryder and her shiny hair sit back stage nervously until a producer calls her to the spotlight.

"Everyone does love a comeback, and we will be communicating that damaged hair deserves one, too," Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, senior vice president of marketing at L’Oréal Paris told Women's Wear Daily. "For Winona, we know that from TV sets to the red carpet, her hair has gone through many transformations — her hair is dry and damaged."

And there you have it.

Some fans were amused by The Comeback while others found themselves perplexed.

No matter how you feel about it, Ryder is officially the new face of L'Oréal.
