Jennifer Lawrence Would Rather Play Mystique in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Than Another 'X-Men' Movie

Would Mystique and Star-Lord be besties, or foes?

You probably won't be seeing Jennifer Lawrence's feisty Mystique in another X-Men flick, but the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is another story.

In a new interview with MTV, Lawrence was markedly enthusiastic about the idea of the powerful blue minx and Star-Lord embarking upon an adventure.

"Oh my god, I would love to," she said. "I actually don't even know — I would choose that over doing another X-Men movie. I won’t be Mystique in the X-Men movies, but I would love to be Mystique in Guardians of the Galaxy. I wonder if they can do that."

While there's little to no chance of Mystique popping up in Guardians Vol. 2 — which is already far past its last day of filming — we shouldn't be too shocked to see her make a cameo in a future sequel.

26-year-old Lawrence, who is presently promoting her new film Passengers, has become demonstrably close with co-star Chris Pratt. In a separate interview with Popsugar, Lawrence poked jabs at the 37-year-old as only besties would, following up by singing his praises as both a magician and a husband.

"[Chris] can solve a Rubik's Cube; I don't know if people know that," the actress said. "I don't know if people know that he's the best father. And that he sends his wife a bouquet of flowers every week."

In Passengers, Pratt and Lawrence play Jim and Aurora, two (guess what?) passengers sleeping in suspended animation en route to a new planet. When they're accidentally awoken 90 years too early, they resign themselves to living out the rest of their days alone in space — until they realize the 500 other passengers on board are in trouble.

Catch Passengers in theaters December 21.
