Hot on the heels of the success of Cinderella, Disney announced today that the highly-anticipated live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, will be released on March 17, 2017.

We know what you're thinking: TWO MORE YEARS OF WAITING?! But good things will certainly come to those who wait, especially now that Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline have joined the cast. Thompson will play Mrs. Potts, while Kline is set to play Belle's father, Maurice.

The two stars join Watson and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), who star as Belle and The Beast/Prince. Luke Evans has also been cast as Belle's boorish suitor Gaston, and funnyman Josh Gad will play Lefou, Gaston's goofy sidekick.

Bill Condon (Twilight) will direct the reboot, and Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards in 1991 for the animated version, will score. Today's Disney press release finally confirmed that the new Beauty and the Beast will be a musical featuring "new recordings of the original songs."
