Want to get the Foo Fighters to come play a concert in your city? Just create an elaborate, incredibly impressive viral video that involves 1,000 musicians playing the same song at the same time.

Rockin' 1000 had a dream of getting the Foo Fighters to come to the little Italian city of Cesena for a show. So they spent months crowdfunding and preparing for a performance that involved 1,000 musicians coming together for a live performance of Foo Fighters' "Learn to Fly."

Orchestra leader Marco Sabiu had the task of getting all of these rockers — including vocalists, drummers, guitarists, and bassists — on the same beat. The results are pretty epic:

So did it work? YES!

On Friday, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl posted a video thanking the fine people of Cesena for their rockin' work.

"Hi Cesena! I'm Dave," Grohl says in the video. "I'm sorry, I don't speak Italian... just a little bit. This video... it's amazing! Such an amazing thing, thank you! We are coming. I promise. See you soon... Thank you so much."

Congrats, Cesena! Well done.
