David Brandon, CEO of Domino's Pizza, Named as Michigan Athletic Director

David Brandon is about to go from slinging pizzas to lining up alumni dollars. The CEO of Domino's Pizza has announced he will step down in March in order to become the next athletic director at the University of Michigan, his alma mater where he played under coach Bo Schembechler in the early 1970s.

"I'm a lucky guy," Brandon said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. "The sun, the moon and the stars lined up for me." Brandon will continue to serve on the board of several other companies, including Burger King Holdings Inc. and TJX Cos.

He'll need to hit the ground running. The Michigan Wolverines are coming off two losing seasons, posting records of 3-9 and 5-7 in 2008 and 2009. The program will also be facing an NCAA investigation after alleged training abuses.
