Drew Barrymore & Will Kopelman Will Not Let Divorce 'Take Away From Us Being a Family'
The two are making it clear their young daughters will come first.
After nearly four years of marriage, the two have confirmed their impending separation. In a statement issued to People on Saturday, they clarified their intentions:
"Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family. Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority."
As their decoupling process continues, Barrymore, 41, and Kopelman will put daughters Olive, 3, and Frankie, 1, first.
In what now seems to have been a statement of her own, Barrymore posted a fresh tattoo of her children's names via Instagram a day before the divorce news broke:
Barrymore, most famous for films like Donnie Darko, Riding in Cars with Boys, and Never Been Kissed, married Kopelman in the June of 2012. It was her third marriage, following commitments to Jeremy Thomas and Tom Green.
