The newest trailer for DC's Justice League offers a first in-depth look at the badassery that's ahead. Released Sunday, Oct. 8, the video features Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck's Batman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Ezra Miller's The Flash, and Ray Fisher's Cyborg combining forces against evil.

The trailer's vibe is powerful, but a little sad. While Affleck's Batman has been inspired by Superman's (Henry Cavill) sacrifice, he questions whether their powers will be enough to overcome a great enemy.

The trailer begins with an intimate flashback via Lois Lane (Amy Adams), who recalls her memory of Cavill's Superman proposal. It's unclear if he'll make a miraculous comeback, reuniting with his super friends for the common good, or if the flashback is merely a nod in his honor.

Justice League picks up after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which concluded with Superman's death.
