Mustache Style: Horseshoe
Steve Prefontaine was an American runner known for his speed in middle and long-distance events. During the 1970s, the aggressive runner held the American records in five distance track events ranging from the 2000 meters to the 10,000 meters. During this time Prefontaine also sported a thick and easily recognizable handlebar mustache. During races his shaggy hair and distinguishable mustache helped complete his aggressive no-nonsense look on the track. Unfortunately Prefontaine died in a car accident at the age of 24, only a year before he was scheduled to compete in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
