What's Better Than Matthew McConaughey Wearing a Fanny Pack? The Rock Wearing a Fanny Pack
(Twitter | Reddit)
We've apparently hit peak media interest in those dorky little waist bags known as fanny packs. On Sunday, Matthew McConaughey attended the Red Sox-Astros baseball game at Fenway Park rocking a black zippered pouch on his left hip. Of course, the dubious fashion statement sent ripples through the Internet, and led fashion experts and media outlets to dub him the new face of the movement to bring back the highly criticized '80s and '90s fashion trend. Yup, 2014 for you in a nutshell.
In fact, the actor's fanny pack caused so much excitement that one reporter was compelled to use precious air time to interview the steamy hot actor about his cool heroic feat. “I’m not afraid of the fanny pack,” he told the reporter. “You gotta kinda put it on the side to make it look a little not as nerdy, but still, practicality wins out. I got so much gear in here that I don’t want in my pockets.”
Now, let's be clear. We're in the midst of a McConaissance. If the actor wants to rock a fanny pack, then by golly, let the Oscar-winning actor wear his fanny pack proud. And, while it's kind of sweet to see an actor as attractive and bro-tastic as McConaughey take one for Team Nerd (sorry, Hulk Hogan), he is by far not the COOLEST dude to say "yes" to fanny. May we introduce you to The Rock, cooly sporting the fanny pack since the 1990s.
Yup, McConaughey's little belly bag's got nothing on that dude.
