Top-10: Ranking Pop Culture's Sexiest Robots and Androids

These are the turn-ons you have to turn on.

Top-10: Ranking Pop Culture's Sexiest Robots and Androids

Can you fall in love with a robot? From Metropolis to Her to A.I. to the upcoming film Ex Machina (above), that's a question movies have explored for decades, to varying degrees of nuance. Generally, the answer isn't an answer at all, just some kind of moral and existential grey area. While the concept of love between man and machine is too complicated to understand definitely, lust is a different story.

Can robots/androids/cyborgs — we're using those terms interchangeably (sorry, sci-fi purists) — be attractive? Hell yes. The debate is not: "Can a robot be sexy?" It's: "Which robot is the sexiest?" To get that debate started, we put together our top-10 list of hottest pop culture robots. (If our list doesn't get you going, feel free to weigh in, down in the comments below.)

First, The B-Movie Honorable Mentions: Galexina, Solo, & Cherry 2000

(That's Dorothy Stratten as Galaxina, Mario Van Peebles as Solo, and Pamela Gidley as Cherry 2000.)

Just because these robots are lesser-known, doesn't make them less attractive. (And apparently, the '80s really had a thing for blond robots with bangs.)

Now, The Top 10:

10. Maria from Metropolis

Top-10: Ranking Pop Culture's Sexiest Robots and Androids

Maria is the original when it comes to hot bots. Sure, she doesn't have fake skin, or a wig, or even eyeballs, but this was 1927. Without Maria, the rest of this list wouldn't be the same. Respect your elder sexy robots, people.

9. The Svedka Bot

Like Metropolis' Maria for the Kim Kardashian generation.

8. Joanna from The Stepford Wives

We don't endorse turning your wife into a mindless, subservient, Leave It to Beaver stereotype, but we do endorse Nicole Kidman being super hot.

7. Gigolo Joe from A.I.

Looking like Jude Law, Gigolo Joe was in the right line of work.

6. Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager

If all the Borgs looked like Jeri Ryan, we would not have been rooting for the Enterprise.

5. The Terminator from The Terminator franchise

Top-10: Ranking Pop Culture's Sexiest Robots and Androids

Don't think of modern Arnold Schwarzenegger. Think of '80s/'90s Arnold Schwarzenegger when he looked like he was chiseled out of stone.

4. The Fembots from Austin Powers

If you're going to make robots designed to seduce and destroy, you might as well make them look like a '70s Barbie doll. That makes the seduction part pretty easy.

3. Roy & Pris from Blade Runner

Top-10: Ranking Pop Culture's Sexiest Robots and Androids

Yes, Roy and Pris look like what would happen if Hitler ran the future, but that's not their fault. These blond-haired, blue-eyed beauties are enough to make a dystopian slum seem appealing.

2. David from Prometheus

How is anyone supposed to get anything done on their space missions when the help looks like Michael Fassbender? You brought this on yourselves, Weyland Industries.

1. Lisa from Weird Science

This is why you should always be nice to nerds. You never know when they might develop the technology to create Kelly LeBrock in a home lab. If you were a boy in the '80s, Lisa was a one-way ticket to puberty. Bless you, Kelly LeBrock.
