Gird Your Loins! Elton John Is Making a 'Devil Wears Prada' Musical
Just give Meryl Streep a Tony already!
Thanks to Elton John and Paul Rudnick, a Broadway musical based on The Devil Wears Prada is heading your way. The new project will be based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel and the hit 2006 film starring Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt.
John will compose the music, while Rudnick is slated to pen the book and lyrics.
“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting,” John stated in a press release. “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
Although the production's timeline has yet to be announced, we are certainly hoping it won't move at a glacial pace!
