Glenn Close is known for weighty roles in movies like Albert Nobbs and Fatal Attraction, not to mention her acclaimed work in TV's Damages. But she's not afraid to dive into the world of fantasy, either. She starred in Tim Burton's martian invasion comedy, Mars Attacks and how could we forget her as villainess Cruella de Vil in the live action version of 101 Dalmatians. Now Deadline reports that the six-time Oscar nominee has taken a role in Marvel's insane-sounding Guardians of the Galaxy.
Close is slated to play a leadership role in the Nova Corps, which is essentially a team of space cops. The outrageous movie takes place in space and has some Marvel characters that we aren't used to including a space raccoon and a giant tree man. We're sure Close will acclimate accordingly. At least she can check "play intergalactic character in a comic book movie" off her bucket list.
