Jackie Earle Haley Plays the New Freddy Krueger

A trailer of the new A Nightmare on Elm Street movie debuted on MySpace today, giving horror buffs a little something to hold onto for the the next 7 months. The remake of the 1984 flick doesn't hit theaters until April 30, 2010, but there has been plently of buzz around what's to come.

"I think this Freddy's going to be a little darker, a little bit more serious, a little more scary," Jackie Earle Haley, who plays the new Freddy Krueger, said.

The actor said it took 3 hours to get into full makeup to play the serial killer, then an additional hour to get it all off after filming for the day. He said if this Elm Street lives up to its hype, there could be 2 more in the making.

Jackie has been in movies such as The Bad News Bears and  Watchmen. In 2007 he was nominated for an Academy Award for his supporting role in Little Children.
