Five years after she abandoned Hollywood in order to raise her daughter Maddie in privacy. Jamie-Lynn Spears is seeking a place in the spotlight once more. Now 21, the former Zoey 101 star is now an aspiring country singer who's been touring the Nashville bar scene with her original compositions.
On Thursday, Spears treated the audience at Nashville's 3rd and Lindsley to "I Look Up to You," a song clearly written about her big sister, Britney Spears. While the song is clearly an expression of admiration, its lyrics touch on sensitive subject matter: "Scared little girl living in a big ol' world / You've outgrown your room, it all happened way too soon / They took away your innocence, we forgot our strong defense."
Spears performed to an excited crowd filled with longtime fans, as she'd offered free tickets to the first 200 people to email her about the show. Spears reportedly plans to release her debut album within the year.
