Miley Cyrus Goes Undercover on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to Find Out What People Really Think of Her
But does she really want to know?
But on Wednesday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cyrus shifted the focus to her upcoming Video Music Awards hosting gig to get the scoop on what strangers really think of her in real life. Dressed up as an Australian news reporter named “Janet,” Cyrus maintained a steady but questionable accent during the “I Witness News” segment. The pop star wore an ill-fitting wig and a frumpy gray suit to make sure people wouldn't recognize her on the streets of Los Angeles.
When a few interviewees offered less than flattering opinions about her and her family, Cyrus quickly displayed her sense of humor.
“I think she's starving for attention and that's why she's doing it all crazy like that,” said one interviewee.
“That's exactly—you took the words right out of my mouth,” Cyrus said.
“She's missing something somewhere,” continued the same interviewee.
“In her heart, probably,” Cyrus responded amusingly. “In her deep soul.”
Parts of the segment became awkward, especially when another interviewee told Cyrus that he liked Taylor Swift better. But Cyrus pushed through, determined to have fun as “Janet.” She pretended to forget her father, Billy Ray Cyrus's, name, and twerked while two teens sang her hit single, “We Can't Stop.”
The VMAs will air this Sunday, August 30th on MTV at 9/8 central.
