Apparently the NFL star was leaving a Taco Bell in Bakersfield, California, his hometown, when one of his friends was pulled over by the Highway Patrol. Porter then pulled up next to the scene in his car, and things turned bad.

According to reports, the officer asked Porter to give him his ID after allegedly smelling alcohol coming from inside his vehicle. Apparently Porter didn't comply, and just tried to roll up the window without handing over his driver's license. The cop reportedly reached inside the car, and Porter batted the officer's hand away.

Then, the officer allegedly grabbed the player's arm, he ended up out of the car and acted in a "confrontational manner" which resulted in the officer pulling out his gun and ordering Porter to the ground. Porter didn't comply, but supposedly put his hands on his head and was then arrested and taken to jail.

He was charged with 3 misdemeanors: DUI, resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer. Porter signed a 3-year deal with the Cardinals March 19, 2010 for a reported $17.5 million.
