The first trailer for Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them aired during the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, and we can't help but feel a bit deprived of the actual beasts part.

Starring The Danish Girl's Eddie Redmayne, Fantastic Beasts represents our first foray into the magical world of Harry Potter without Harry Potter himself — an exciting step for us muggles. While the journey of Harry may be (kind of, sort of) over, we're more than happy get to know a few new characters if it means keeping the magic alive.

Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, and Carmen Ejogo, also star in the tale of Newt Scamander, an ex-Hogwarts student with a particular affinity for (you guessed it) some goold old beasties.

Same, Newt, same.

However, in lieu of dragons, centaurs, and house elves, the trailer is teasing us with this little guy:

We're not quite sure what he is, but other than a far too fleeting peek at a baby dragon, it looks like he's all we're getting so far in the "beasts" department.

See for yourself in the trailer below.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premieres November 18, 2016.
