Are You Ready for Kanye West's Comeback?

(Bauer Griffin)

Eight months after jumping onstage to interrupt Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West is preparing a comeback. The first sign came Friday morning. His new single, "Power," was leaked online ahead of Kanye's next album, Good Ass Job.

And it is good. Really good. On "Power" Kanye abandons the auto-tuner and the sad-synth sound of 808s and Heartbreak for a militaristic dance beat, old-Kanye style rhymes, and an inspired sample of King Crimson's 1969 prog-rock classic, "21st Century Schizoid Man." It's exactly the kind of thing Kanye needed to release to prove his ongoing relevance and guarantee some big first-week sales when his new album drops.

It means that like him or not, by the end of summer Kanye will be back in full force -- as in we'll be forced to listen to his singles and watch for his antics whenever he makes a public appearance. And I'm predicting right now that despite the lingering hate for Saturday Night Live he expresses in "Power" -- "F--- SNL and the whole cast" -- we'll definitely be forced to catch his return to and reconciliation with the NBC sketch comedy show.

Check out the new single below and take our Zimbio poll to let us know if you think Kanye can ever really come back after his big fall.
